Scope Of Work

The striking façade of the Scott Family Amazeum in Northwest Arkansas is as playful as it is beautiful. This idea of combining fun and functionality carries on throughout the facility, with interactive indoor and outdoor learning spaces, separate meeting areas, and a venue where businesses and organizations can host events.

This children’s museum features approximately 50,000 square feet of indoor exhibit, meeting, and learning spaces, plus one acre of outdoor learning space. Exhibits include the Tinkering Hub; Hershey’s Lab; The Neighborhood Market; Art Studio; Canopy Climber; Lift, Load & Haul; Cloud Theater; Water Amazements; Homestead Cabin and Farm; Cave, Nickelodeon Play Lab; Emerging Explorers; Nature & Weather; Outdoor Playscape (complete with climbing wall, of course!); and a traveling exhibit area. Best of all, visitors can touch EVERYTHING! Museum-goers will also find a recycling shop, the Zing Café, and walking trails connecting the Amazeum to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.

The Amazeum’s many eco-friendly features include an 80-well geothermal cooling system, bioswales, rain gardens, LED lighting, natural day lighting, and daylight harvesting. A reflection of Nabholz’ strong commitment to sustainable building, the construction process itself also included environmentally-friendly practices, such as waste diversion, indoor environmental quality (IEQ) management, and use of our?green jobsite trailer.

The General Mills Lift, Load & Haul exhibit features a real semi-truck cab and shipping container, which are so big that our Nabholz project team had to set them in place and then build the exhibit hall around them!
