Scope Of Work
When United Rentals committed to build a new distribution center in Fairfield County, they reached out to their construction clients and asked for recommendations. Our peers within the industry advocated Bismark Construction as General Contractor for the $10 million project.
The new facility was to consist of two separate buildings—a 36,000 sf structure to house offices, training facilities, lunch rooms, locker rooms, and a large service station with overhead cranes, welding stations, wash bays and spray booths, and a 12,000 sf storage building to house over $1 million worth of rental equipment. Because of its location, the buildings were constructed using 222 80-ton steel, concrete-filled piles ranging in length from 60 to 100 feet with grade beams, and structural slab foundation.
Bismark’s environmental site experience was key in completing the project on schedule. In fact, the project was completed three months in advance of the originally anticipated completion.
