Our Story
In 1885 – C.W. Benning Construction, entered the general contracting business in Atchison, Kansas, the well respected and principal owner was Charles W. Benning. Throughout Kansas, C.W. Benning Construction built numerous government, state and local buildings for the cities of Atchison, Kingman, Winfield, Great Bend, Garnett, and Emporia. The most notable projects were the buildings of the Union Depot, the County Courthouse, as well as Effingham High School, in Effingham, Kansas. As the turn of the century quickly approached, C.W. Benning Construction found themselves doing more work in Oklahoma, and Utah. One of the best known projects in Salt Lake City was the Symns Wholesale Grocery House.
Over the next few years the Benning family and C.W. Benning Construction built or participated in the building of numerous Post Office buildings from Alabama to Rock Springs, Wyoming where Lynn R. Benning supervised the plumbing and mechanical work, and the installation of the heating, and ventilation systems throughout all of the Post Office Buildings.
Today, C.W. Benning Construction, Inc. with the opening of their offices in El Paso, Texas, continues to employ the same visionary general contractor thinking that lead them into the 20th Century; as we enter the 21st Century our foresight and progressive work plan along with our use of technology has enabled us to successfully complete projects throughout the states of Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Louisiana. We hold general contractor licenses in the following states: Texas, New Mexico and Arizona.
