Scope Of Work
IMR Development Corp was contracted by the West Palm Beach VA Hospital to perform a visual inspection to the West Palm Beach VA Hospital East Parking Lot presumably affected by an overloaded truck. According to information provided by the VA Engineering Department, a fire truck circulated over the third floor deck of the East parking lot. Concerned with the issue that this building is not typically designed for this type of vehicle and observations of cracks and water seeping thru the slab joints, it was requested to perform an independent structural inspection to the structure. IMR’s structural engineer performed a visual inspection to the structure, collected all the information required to evaluate the behavior of the structure under the estimated loads. Physical inspections of the conditions of the location and the extent of the cracks were surveyed. Reviews of drawings and calculations of the building were performed. Correlation of existing damages and traffic loads were established to attain a summarized conclusion. A report was drafted and submitted for the owners review and approval, before a final, stamped report was submitted.
