Scope Of Work
Astaldi Construction Corporation has been awarded the $1.2 billion I-405 Improvement Project in Orange County California.
The Orange County Transportation Authority and the California Department of Transportation are widening the San Diego Freeway (I-405) between State Route 73 (SR-73) and Interstate 605 (I-605). The $1.2 billion design-build project will improve 16 miles of the heavily travelled interstate. The scope of work includes adding one regular lane in each direction from Euclid Street to I-605 and making improvements to freeway entrances, exits and bridges. In addition, the scope includes construction of the I-405 Express Lanes, which will provide a fast, congestion-free and reliable travel option to motorists.
The works, commissioned by the OCTA Orange County Transportation Authority, will be financed with local, state, and federal funds. The works have a duration of 6 years, and will be carried out in joint venture with the Spanish Group OHL (holding a 60% stake).
