Matthew Grosshandler is a co-founder and VP of Operations of Bald
Hill Builders. Matt has more than 20 years of combined residential and
commercial building experience, working for such companies as Suffolk
Construction, Shawmut Design and Construction and BBL Construction
Services. Matt began learning the trades and his business acumen from
his father by working for the family business, Jo-Lyn Kitchens, while
in high school and in college.
Matt is responsible for providing senior level management and
oversight to all of BHB’s’ projects; aligning project operations with
company goals; leading pre-construction efforts; overseeing the
management of projects and client relationships; and assisting with
marketing and business development efforts. Since BHB’s inception,
Matt has been an instrumental part in growing the various strategic
business units. As a result, BHB’s market share has expanded rapidly
and is ahead of target for its overall revenue growth. Matt has
embraced new technologies and systems, including making huge inroads
into the Modular Building Industry. Recently, Matt was asked to
participate in a study with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’
Department of Housing to considering modular construction as a more
widely accepted practice.

Matt has earned both a Bachelor of Science in Building Sciences and
an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. While
attending RPI, Matt was awarded the Founders Award for Leadership,
Design and Creativity, a prestigious award given annually to one
student on campus. He has completed an executive training program at
Suffolk University in Boston, MA and an Entrepreneurship program at
Babson College in Wellesley, MA as well as certificate programs in
HVAC and Electric design from Northeastern University in Boston, MA.
He currently holds numerous licenses and certificates in trade related
disciplines including his MA, CT and RI State Licenses, the
unrestricted Boston ABC license and the unrestricted Cambridge, MA
High-Rise license. Matt is also a Leadership in Energy and
Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED-AP).
In May, 2014 Matt was named one of New England’s Top Young
Professionals by Engineering News-Record, one of the most prestigious
industry magazines. Matt is a past President and Executive Board
Member of the Friends of Hebrew SeniorLife, has volunteered for
Habitat for Humanity and is an active fundraiser for the Pan Mass Challenge.
Matt currently resides in Sharon, Massachusetts with his wife Brenda
and their two children. Matt is an avid cyclist, sports fan and
family man.
