Scope Of Work
The 238-acre Casky Yard Coal Train Inspection Yard is located on the CSXT Henderson Subdivision. Balfour Beatty Infrastructure was responsible for the design and construction of the railyard where empty northbound coal trains pull into the inspection tracks for required 1,000 mile inspections.
Track spacing allows for the inspection vehicles and fuel trucks to travel between in a one-way direction. The perimeter road is paved from one end of the terminal to the other.
With fueling capabilities at both ends, the yard also has capability to inspect southbound trains. On-site fuel storage tanks have been provided on the south end for the “over-the- road” drivers to bring fuel to the site. Private mobile fuel tanks are used internally for fueling and servicing locomotives track side.
The Yard Office is located on the north end of the facility along the ladder as requested by CSXT Operations.
