Scope Of Work
In June 2014, US Underwater Services was at the Arsenal Hill Power Plant in Shreveport, Louisiana to inspect the intake structure and replace the hydroburst coupler for AEP. Upon inspection of the intake the divers noted the flange side, closest to the bank, had a gap with the gasket sticking out of the flange area with the hardware heavily corroded. The hardware and gaskets were replaced then tested for leakage. The diver installed two new rubber gaskets and 16 brass 3-inch long bolts. The rest of the intake plumbing and intake screens were inspected for damage and/or restrictions and debris. All plumbing appeared to be intact and in good condition. The screens were in good condition with no obstructions. Once the diver had completed the inspection, and out of the water, the hydroburst line was pressurized to check for leakage. No leakage was noted.
