Scope Of Work
Using a five man commercial dive team, US Underwater Services conducted an external and internal inspection of the intake structure including all support structures, traveling water screens, the concrete apron slope, both circulating pumps and auxiliary cooling water pumps.
Once assessed divers used 5-gallon buckets (due to the type of sediment and debris) to remove all sediment and rocks from both external and internal portions of the intake structure. Approximately 32 5-gallon bucket loads of mud and small gravel was removed from the pump bays. A post-inspection was conducted to give a final assessment of the condition of the intake structure.
