The new MCHD HQ is adjacent to Bud Clark Commons and every decision with core placement, HVAC systems, and fenestration needs to be cognizant of this close-knit site relationship. LEED is a framework to quantify healthy high performance building and ecoREAL’s GBIM tools integrate sustainability goals seamlessly into the design and construction process to streamline documentation and provide progress reports that help the team stay on track. Similar to medicine you need to measure and assess in order to create a health plan that someone can sustain. ecoREAL provides those measurement tools to help the team make decision that will ensure the long-term health and performance of the building. The dashboards in our progress reports can be integrated with Energy Management and intranet systems to education tenants and facility staff to engage them in sustainable practices.

In the spirit of collaboration, various stake holders of the HD project participated in an ecocharrette, a program unique to ecoREAL’s process that creates a dynamic conversation about sustainable strategies for the project. We also used our GBIM software that tracks LEED credits in real time, providing the client with a cost effective tool to facilitate the LEED process. In addition to these processes, we also looked at this project through our Triple Bottom Line lens which provides a value proposition that takes environmental, economic and social impacts into consideration for design and construction strategies.
