Tom French Construction, Inc.

Gayle has been in partnership with Tom in the home building endeavor since 1979. She has a degree in education from the University of Kansas, and taught school for 7 years. Gayle manages design and decorating of model homes, and oversees options for clients in the selection process. Gayle's influence has proved an enormous contribution to the success of Tom French Homes.

Tom began his business in 1979 and has been building homes full-time ever since. He received his B/S degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kansas, and later obtained a Master's Degree in Business Administration from UMKC.

Since 1978 Tom French has been designing and building custom homes and maintenance provided communities in the Kansas City area.  Tom has a longstanding reputation as one of Kansas City’s most respected homebuilders.

Tom’s educational background is in mechanical engineering with a master’s degree in business.  He has over 30 years of on the job experience in developing communities for every lifestyle.

Throughout his building career, Tom has been involved in the community.  He has helped remodel and supervise the construction of two Ronald McDonald Houses, recruited the HBA’s involvement in the Access Home for the Blue Valley School District, participated in building a Habitat for Humanity home and built a Touch by Cancer display home in 2005.

Tom has served as president of Kansas City’s HBA and was elected to KC Home builders Hall of Fame in 2002.  Members of the HBA Hall of Fame not only share a commitment to quality home building, but they also donate time to community service projects.  Tom donated significant time to the remodeling and construction of two local Ronald McDonald Houses.  He served as a project manager for the first Cherry Street Ronald McDonald House.  Tom enlisted the help of the local HBA when he became involved in the construction of the Blue Valley School District Access House for specially challenged students.

Tom continues to believe in the concept of green building and led a task force to develop “Build Green”, the first local program designed to promote the use of environmentally friendly building products and techniques.  Several green building products are utilized throughout the Tom French communities and many others can be incorporated into a custom built home.

Paul began his career with Tom French Construction in 1983. Paul obtained a bachelor's degree in Construction Management from Pittsburgh State University. He oversees field work and project managers. Paul manages quality control and scheduling, holding the company and employees at high standards.

Steve grew up in the Odessa area on his family's dairy farm. He has worked in the home building industry for 30 years. He is very pleased and thankful to be a part of the Tom French Construction team, working as the construction estimator. Steve enjoys the farm, the outdoors, and the hustle & bustle of construction projects. He loves spending time with his family and friends. Tom French Construction is very happy to welcome Steve to the TFCI Team.

Dan grew up in Johnson County, attending Blue Valley North HS and the University of Kansas. After working in the automotive industry for 10 years, Dan started his own company doing renovation work and flipping homes in the South Kansas City area. Dan is excited to join the Tom French team and help continuing building excellence.

Johanna has been with Tom French Homes since 1998. She attended Kansas State University and obtained a bachelor's degree in Interior Design. She meets directly with customers to finalize decorating selections, and works closely with Gayle on model homes.

Tim is Tom and Gayle’s nephew and grew up in Olathe. He has been working in the construction industry since the age of thirteen, and spent summers, weekends and evenings working for Tom French Homes and other companies. In 1988 he spent 7 years working full time for Tom French Homes. He then ran his own construction and remodeling business for twenty-three years. He is excited about returning to the Tom French Homes team, and working in Meadowbrook Park.
