Scope Of Work
Banneker Ventures served as the general contractor for the construction of a security system that included 2,300 linear feet of 10’ high galvanized chain link fence, dark green patrician vinyl privacy slats, 3-30 wide double drive gates with all hardware. This outside-construction project involved working in uneven and hilly terrain even during inclement weather. Another interesting challenge with the work environment was the need to periodically stop work in order to pay proper respect to nearby funeral ceremonies.
Arlington National Cemetery is the nation’s most sacred shrine and the final resting place for our most revered military and civilian leaders. The Cemetery receives millions of visitors each year. More than 6,000 funerals are conducted yearly – in addition to over 2,000 other ceremonies, such as commemorations, wreath ceremonies, and head-of-state visits. The fence enabled the cemetery to consolidate outdoor workspace while maintaining the sanctity of adjacent final resting places.
