Scope Of Work
Banneker served as prime general contractor for the modernization of seven floors of galleys for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
This was a four-phase design-bid-build project that included full interior demolition and construction including all sustainable flooring, lights, wall covering and ceiling as well as drywall, HVAC and furniture. Five galleys remained in use at all times while two were under construction. The work included demolishing existing millwork, plumbing fixtures, furniture, telephone electric and data boxes, ceiling grid and tiles, flooring and wall covering, and construction of millwork, energy efficient lighting, water efficient plumbing fixtures, ceiling grid and tile, HVAC duct and diffusers and controls, sprinklers, sustainable materials, furniture and repair of raised flooring. Work was conducted in high security areas and all staff were required to obtain security clearances.
