Scope Of Work
PJ Dick provided General Contracting services for Bethany College's Cochran Hall renovation. This 100 year old building’s brick façade was cleaned, repaired and repainted. Chemicals and high-pressure water were used. Damaged bricks were removed and replaced. Failing mortar was removed, slot cleaned and repainted. The chimneys were rebuilt and new stone caps were installed.
The project started with challenging asbestos, mold and lead abatement and demolition down to the structure. The finished project resulted in 19 suite-style apartments with capacity for 72 beds. The suite layout accommodates multiple options for Bethany College students with regards to the number of roommates desired, from one to six students per suite. Each suite boasts a private bath and living room area. On the first floor of the building is a student meeting area. Laundry facilities are located on the first and third floors. The college fully occupied the building in the fall 2010 semester.
