Over the course of his near 30-year career in the design and
construction industry, Mr. Janakus has accumulated a broad range of
experience. After obtaining his Master of Science degree in Civil
Engineering from Colorado State University, Mr. Janakus began his
career with a Structural Engineering Firm and remains a licensed
Professional Engineer in Colorado and California. After working
full-time on-site on the Arizona Diamondbacks Baseball Stadium
project, Mr. Janakus accepted a position with the General Contractor
for the San Francisco Giants Baseball Stadium project. He then
returned to the original Structural Engineering Firm to form and run a
design-build division that became quite successful, compiling an
extensive client list, over the course of 5-years.
Receiving an offer to change career paths and ready for a new
challenge, Mr. Janakus accepted a position as Owner Representative
with a casino company that culminated the implementation of his design
and construction management skills and experience. After assisting in
completing the already underway Red Rock Resort project in Las Vegas,
NV, Mr. Janakus went on to successfully lead the Aliante Station in
North Las Vegas, NV; Thunder Valley in Lincoln, CA; Graton in Graton,
CA; and Palms in Las Vegas, NV projects.
Mr. Janakus joined SMC Construction Company in 2018.
