Testimonials
Mr. Dean Hurt:
As per our conversation of 9-19-08, I am happy to recommend you and your company to outside vendors for scrap services. Your company, as your father before you, have had a good relationship with Max Phillips and Son in Eau Claire for may years. This continues today as we are now a part of the Alter Metal Recycling Corporation.
Hurt Recycling has sold us many thousands of tons of scrap metal. This metal, both ferrous and non-ferrous, meets our customer specs as well as our environmental policies. You have the option of dealing with any of our 38 facilities nationwide which further strengthens your service capabilities. I have personally witnessed your employee's in operation, to include: processing, rigging, handling, loading and transporting scrap metal, so I am secure with your operational expertise.
In that Hurt Recycling acts independently from Alter Metal Recycling, I have no knowledge of any financial or insurance problems. Therefore I recommend Hurt Recycling as a preferred scrap vendor.
Respectfully,
Over the past several months, we have been working with Hurt’s Recycling to salvage a portion of a 22 acre site in downtown Green Bay. The site was the home of the former Larsen Canning Co. Larsen discontinued manufacturing operations in 2004. In July of last year, On Broadway, Inc. purchased the site for redevelopment into a mixed use commercial district. Now known as the Larsen Redevelopment Project, Dimension IV was retained by the new owner to identify the salvage and demolition work on this site.
In the fall of 2007, Hurt’s Recycling was the successful bidder (of five) to perform the recycling/recovery work on this site. Though we had not worked with Hurt’s Recycling or Dean Hurt in the past, we have found the company to be competent in their efforts.
We have made several requests of Dean including a certificate of insurance, coordination of the salvage efforts with the demolition company, help at press conferences and miscellaneous other small requests. In each case, Hurt’s has been able to provide what was requested.
Since becoming part of the Larsen Redevelopment team, Hurt’s Recycling has demonstrated an ability to work in a team environment’ with a variety of contractors to complete the task on hand. Although Mr. Dean Hurt does not operate out of Green Bay, he has shown the ability to adapt and find the contacts he needs to complete the project.
We would work with Hurt’s Recycling on another project if they were the successful bidder. We would also consider negotiating a contract with them if the appropriate project presented itself.
Sincerely,
In 2007 we sold the salvage from the vacated Fort James Papermill in Ashland,WI to Hurt’s Recycling. They honored their contract with us and were good to work with.
We would consider contracting with them on similar future projects.
