Scope Of Work
Construction on the new Los Alamos High School Fieldhouse began on Monday, December 16th 2019 with the installation of the project fencing. The new facility will support not only sports teams and the band, but high school physical education classes as well. The new structure will be just over 7,000 square feet and include locker rooms for home and away teams, new concessions and ticket booths, public rest rooms, a training room and 1000 sq. ft. of storage space.
In addition, a new Press Box will be installed behind the home bleachers. The plaque commemorating President John F. Kennedy’s visit to Los Alamos and address to the community at the field on December 7, 1962 will be re-installed at the new building.
The district signed a contract for this project with Franken Construction. The cost of the project is $5.8 million. Funding resources include general obligation bonds, HB33 funds and participation by Los Alamos County.
