Scope Of Work

The city of St. Louis Park was founded by a couple of businessmen from Minneapolis back in the 1800s. Today, St. Louis Park is a growing community that is surrounded by beautiful lakes and parks. Most of St. Louis Park is developed and much of the focus lately has been on redevelopment projects, including the new 4800 Excelsior Apartment complex.

The 6-story, mixed-use complex features 164 market-rate apartments that have either 1 or 2 bedrooms. On the ground level, there is a 28,000 square-foot Fresh Thyme grocery store. There is an additional 1,900 square foot of commercial space on the ground floor that will be available for lease by a retailer. Before Big-D crews could construct the new Excelsior Apartments, they first had to demolish a vacant gym. A foundation was then poured for a construction crane on the job site.

Aside from housing and commercial space, there is a parking structure that has approximately 300 stalls for residential and guest parking. Additional modern amenities include a terrace with a grill station and swimming pool, a rooftop patio with panoramic views of the Minneapolis skyline, a fitness room, and a lounge area with a fireplace. Arguably, the most notable feature of Excelsior Apartments is a one-of-a-kind entrance lobby with a “grand staircase” that greets residents and guests.
