Scope Of Work

A new urban development has emerged near downtown Salt Lake City. Big-D Construction in a joint venture with Kier Construction (KD Construction) teamed on a multifamily project called Hardware Village. Big-D and Kier both bring years of experience between the two companies in constructing multi-family housing projects that are similar to the size and caliber of the Hardware Apartments.

The 7.32-acre site includes the Hardware Apartments. The project features more than 400 residential units (townhomes, apartments, and condominiums). The residential units will be split between the East Village and West Village. The East Village will include six-floors of residential space. Townhomes and commercial space will be on the ground level. The West Village will also feature six-floors of residential space and a private courtyard for residents.

One of the more notable features of the project is the outdoor swimming pool that was installed on the top of the parking structure. Amenities include a fitness center, a game room, and a luxurious common area.

Hardware Apartments is located near the light rail system for the Utah Transit Authority. A sloped walkway now provides residents a direct pedestrian connection to the TRAX and Frontrunner stations. The historic Salt Lake Hardware building neighbors the apartment complex. The Salt Lake Hardware building was constructed in 1909 and is currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
