Scope Of Work

A booming neighborhood in St. Paul is getting a makeover. St. Anthony Park is already home to a number of retail shops and restaurants. The neighborhood is adjacent to the University of Minnesota’s St. Paul Campus. The Luther Seminary, the largest seminary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the United States, also calls St. Anthony Park home. Now, for the first time in decades, the area is getting a batch of new housing. It is part of a massive project called the Como 2030 Plan. The plan calls for creating additional housing options for the growing population of seniors living in the neighborhood.

Big-D Construction was hired to build one of the new housing projects – Park 24. The new mixed-use building has 25 apartment units and space for retail shops on the first floor. The building also has an exercise room, rooftop deck with an outdoor fireplace, and a community room for residents. Additional amenities include an indoor pool, a trash chute, and an elevator.

The first level is precast concrete; the next 3 levels of the building feature wood framing, exterior masonry, and composite windows. There is parking on the main level with 26 stalls. The apartment units range from 720 to 1,245 square feet. There are both one bedroom and two bedroom apartments and each unit has modern kitchens, granite countertops, and tile floors.
