Overview
MT2 performed bi-annual trap clean out of the Firing Line indoor range to improve shooter safety and meet strict regulatory standards.
MT2 Services
MT2 firing range maintenance tasks included: installing a double containment system prior to starting the work to confine the work area and protect the rest of the facility during work activities; installing a negative air system to increase air flow to protect MT2 workers and the facility from potential lead dust; removing rubber granules and lead from the rubber bullet trap; utilizing MT2’s TrapVac’s to separate the lead from rubber granules for lead reclamation and recycling; re-installing rubber back onto the berm to an improved condition; and HEPA vacuuming and decontaminating the work area for final shooting range cleanup. The lead collected was a very high value and was recycled to offset project costs; a certificate of recycling was issued to the Firing Line.
Outcome
Firing Line received an improved range to protect the patrons from potential ricochet hazard and lead dust in the environment. MT2’s proprietary lead recovery systems provided the client with the highest recycle value to off-set project costs.
