Overview
MT2 performed rubber berm maintenance at the Corpus Christi Police Department outdoor range to improve shooter safety and reduce the amount of lead in the environment.
MT2 Services
MT2 operated in Level C protection to protect workers from lead dust. MT2 removed the rubber granules and lead from the rubber bullet trap for lead reclamation and recycling. MT2 utilized MT2’s high efficiency vacuumed truck and MT2’s TrapVac’s to separate the lead from the rubber granules. This is a continuous process to minimize time on-site. The lead collected was a very high value and was recycled to offset project costs. A certificate of recycling was issued to the Corpus Christi. MT2 reinstalled rubber back onto the berm to an improved condition. MT2 vacuumed and decontaminated the work area for final shooting range cleanup.
Outcome
Corpus Christi received an improved range to protect the officers from potential firing range lead hazards including splashback and lead dust. MT2’s proprietary lead recovery systems provided the client with the highest recycle value to off-set project costs.
