Aaron has a minor in biology. It’s weird, right? For a person who is so talented with money to also be good with frogs? But that’s what we like about Aaron—he’s complex. A fan of the Cardinals and the Cowboys. An active hiker and an idle movie watcher. He even played football, basketball and baseball. With his eccentric range of interests, we’re curious to see what he’ll put together next.

Fan of the yet to be. Dreamer of big dreams. Full-time family man & part-time political junkie. With a passion for unconventional business approaches, a knack for strategy, and a genuine enjoyment of providing opportunity, Matt sees no limit to the good the VG can achieve. (Which is why we feel good calling him our CEO.)

Layne loves to learn. Say that four times fast. More than a tongue twister, Layne’s zest for learning has been a defining life theme. From the design profession, to outdoor hobbies, to mid century modern home renovation, Layne can always be found researching, refining, and learning more.

Ideas from pixels to print, that’s Patrick. Creative Director. Master designer. Occasional banjo-er. Patrick ensures that the gut check of each project—the essence of Vecino—comes through loud & clear. Also loud: the guitars & amps that sit behind the giant cow silhouette in his office. (He’s also mastered the art of smiling with his eyes. Twinkly as St. Nick, we swear.)

With decades in the affordable housing industry, Sharon knows exactly what she’s doing and why she’s doing it. Her commitment to community drives her work. Her commitment to adrenaline drives her pursuit of outdoor adventures. And underneath it all, you’ll find constant University of Georgia loyalty—Sharon is not afraid to bark like a BullDawg.

The rare Vecino Group bird with a traditional real estate background, Tim has been a broker, a developer, and a landlord. Now he’s the President of Student Housing, a position that keeps him almost as young as his vegan lifestyle and marathon running.( Tim balances out all this righteousness by having the messiest desk in the office.)

Tim is a geek. (It’s okay, he knows.) It’s how he describes his passion for heightening energy performance in buildings and all aspects of reducing their carbon footprint. With 26 years as a licensed professional, from architecture to construction, he’s built countless homes and buildings—as well as a wonderful family. And if you need a seasoned ski instructor, Tim knows a guy (wink wink).

Eric loves welding and music—and he’s got the Stevie Ray Vaughn sculpture he made in high school to prove it. After discovering his love for ironworks, a 20-year career followed and led to a role as safety director and a part of implementing large-scale jobs including an Olympic training facility and the 2nd largest warehouse in the world (rhymes with “camera’s on”). Another role he loves? Dad and travel director to his 3 awesome kids.

One thing about Kevin: he loves a challenge. Proof, you ask? He’s worn multiple construction hats, each guided by a degree in Civil Engineering. He tracks and hunts Western Big Game. He enjoys driving hopefully-not-upside down in Moab (it’s a Jeep thing). Currently, he’s training for an enduro race in the Idaho Mountains where 90% of the entrants drop out. See? Be it off-road or on-task, Kevin brings it.

Luis is all about the verbs. Moving often throughout his childhood as part of a military family. Driving cars. Watching movies. Hanging with friends. Shooting guns and (with even more regularity) cameras. Even when he was expertly building burritos he was dreaming of building bigger things. We’re happy to say his moving, dreaming, and building has brought him here.

The daughter of an Atlanta building inspector, Melissa was born to build. From renovations and construction, to sewing and candle making, she is in a constant cycle of imagine, plan, make. With several years of experience in HUD housing projects, Melissa brings her knowledge of construction and heart for helping others to Vecino, where we’re excited to see her continue to create.

Michael has experience on both sides. Kansas City-wise, he was born on the Kansas side but lives on the Missouri side (a proud, 3rd generation Jayhawk, fyi). His studies offered him cultural perspectives on both sides of our globe (France and China). Beginning in a design focused area then transitioning to development, he has a passion for the built environment as well as our natural one – and how both impact communities. His duality of talent means that Michael is perfectly suited as a champion for VG’s work toward the greater good.

Nate makes bio writing easy. In addition to being a highly capable architect, he’s also on a quest to run a marathon in every state and on every continent by the time he’s 40. No big deal. He’s currently on marathon #14, state #9 and continent #2. (When not running like Forrest Gump, Nate enjoys kayaking, cooking, and the outdoors with his wife.)

Build something correctly and it will work dependably. Walter, an Engineer by trade and nature, lives this adage daily. In his off hours, he builds found object, home décor creations. At work, he’s responsible for the engineering of VG projects; civil, structural, and MEP(no big deal.)

We’re truly a bit speechless when it comes to Yeji. As a Development Analyst, she has successfully completed 3,985 units of housing. That’s amazing. But wait—she’s also a student of architecture, has a degree in finance, is an enthusiastic yogi and a ballet dancer. Plus, she’s thrice a “cat mom” and is raising foster kittens. I mean, we’re not sure—but she may actually be a superhero.

As a people person with a love for puzzles, Beth gives us the gift of a tongue twister as well as her strengths. Beth grew up in a small town of 600 people feeling the importance of community. Today, as a Mom, Cub Scout Leader/Treasurer, and dedicated puzzle solver (which she readily applies to her everyday role in accounting), she’s been a clear fit for us from the start.

“Know your numbers”, they say. Brandon certainly does and more. He brings nearly 10 years of Accounting (Construction/LIHTC/Multifamily) to the VG, plus a healthy sense of community (locally and globally, since he has family in both the United States and Germany). Free-time means family-time: camping, hunting, fishing and seeing the world. We’re ecstatic Brandon’s at VG for entwicklung zum wohle der allgemeinheit.

“Greater” describes Tabitha to a T. It’s what she seeks professionally, always honing her knowledge, fluency, and skill within the numbers. Hailing from the Ozarks, she finds both inspiration and solace exploring the great outdoors with her family. And from painting to crafts, she is constantly pushing her own creative boundaries (and those of her Cricut). For Vecino, Tabitha is beyond good.

Mr. Pardita definitely has experience..or experiences? Through construction, he has stories from all over the upper 48 states (ask him about that 30 ft. crane in Oklahoma). His pursuit of his trade led him to Africa to work in Malabo Equatorial Guinea. He’s a weightlifter, outdoorsman, occasionally impersonates a golfer—but most importantly he’s “Dad”. And as a former boxer, we know Ricky has the heart and drive to be a leader for the greater good.
