Scope Of Work
AECOM Hunt as construction manager for the W Fort Lauderdale Hotel & Residences, a 1,033,740-square-foot, 4.5 acre oceanfront mixed-use resort. The resort consists of 346 hotel rooms and 171 luxury residence keys in twin 23-story towers. Amenities include a destination health spa, fitness center, two heated swimming pools, premium restaurants and lounges, 19,200 square feet of meeting and convention facilities, an 827-car parking garage and other various resort features.
The hotel’s guest room towers feature a post-tensioned concrete structure featuring dramatic curving balconies to increases the views to the ocean. The main pool has a uniquely featured stairway which passes through the water via a Plexiglas enclosure. The hotel public area features an atrium that connects three levels of lobby, bar/lounge and meeting spaces. The property also features partially underground parking which required significant de-watering and waterproofing due to the water table.
