Scope Of Work
A project at the Beach!
Sounds fun, right? Well, I think if you asked our guys, they would agree. This projects challenges were primarily dealing with the high wind lift experienced during those famous Oregon Coast Storms. With a few calculations and some diligence, our staff at DPI Solar was able to calculate that the expected wind-lift associated with our solar array at 140 mph to be around 28,000 foot-pounds of force. Sounds like a lot, huh? Well…my dad always said: “Do it once, and Do it right”. So…we opted to double up our supports on this project and ended up engineering a system that will hold down even when the wind force is in excess of 130,000 foot-pounds of lift!
Our motto: OVER-KILL IS UNDER-RATED.
Our customers have an amazing new home down at the coast and topped it all off with a great mid-sized solar array that was designed into the home by the owners from the beginning with tilts of 28 degrees and a perfect 180 degree orientation (true south). This system went online in early fall of 2015 and has seen some great days of sun in this extended summer we’ve had in 2015.
