Scope Of Work
The scope of the work was to repair a dam that was not holding water. When we first bid on this job, the water level was low and the leaks were not as obvious. When the job finally mobilized, the area had experienced several days with several inches of rain. The water was pouring out under the concrete dam, and it progressively got worse. In order to repair this, we had to install forms quickly and pour a cement to create a plug. Also adding to the situation was the misplaced Riprap that was not allowing the water to drain over the spillway as it should have, but instead was causing the water to migrate through the surrounding earthen portion of the dam. Once the concrete plug was set, we completed the repairs using bentonite. The lake now holds its full impoundment and releases over the spillway as it should.
