Scope Of Work
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, knew Fort Hood needed to update their dental clinic, but they also knew the base couldn’t lose access to care during construction. To ensure this design-build project could continue without impacting the active clinic’s daily operations, they chose a trusted partner to complete the task: Robins & Morton.
To reduce impact to daily operations, Robins & Morton’s team extensively coordinated and planned with all parties to create a multi-phased schedule. The first phase involved constructing a fully functional, 14,000-square-foot modular transition space to temporarily relocate the clinic. This allowed the clinic to remain completely operational for the duration of renovations. Then, the project team began renovating the 36,725-square-foot space. In the final phase, staff transitioned into the newly renovated clinic and the temporary facility was removed from the campus. Robins & Morton’s collaborative management enabled the on-time and under-budget delivery of this project.
Now complete, the clinic includes 57 total dental treatment rooms, four surgical rooms, a laboratory, and central sterile, serving all the dental care needs of soldiers and their families on the Fort Hood base.
