Scope Of Work
Pacific Tech Construction was contracted by the Bureau of Reclamation to reroof the Left, Right and Third Powerhouses at the Grand Coulee Dam, located near Grand Coulee, WA on the Columbia River. Pacific Tech was responsible for the tear-off of the existing roof system, the installation of a temporary roof system consisting of a SBS Modified base sheet set in Type IV Asphalt. The newly installed permanent roof system consisted of 2” polyisocyanurate and one layer of 2 ½” OSB/ Polyiso composite board, both of which were set in Type IV Asphalt at 30 pounds per square foot. Afterwards, 80 Mil TPO Singly Ply roofing system was then fully adhered to the OSB/Polyiso composite board. The Third Powerhouse required the removal of the existing foam system an installation of full spray-foam roofing and fluid-applied coating system for water intrusion. Pacific Tech also replaced associated sheet metal and flashing. Work had to be coordinated with power grid shut-downs as a large portion of the work area was impacted by potential electrical hazards. This required strict adherence to project milestones and deadlines. Pacific Tech was also very mindful of preventing any debris from falling off the roofs into the dam spillway. Finally, Pacific Tech accomplished this project in close partnership with Colville Tribal Employment Rights Office and included a number of members of the local tribal workforce in crews. This project was completed on time and on budget, including owner requested changes to the scope. The combined roofing size of this project was 230,000 SF and was completed on 12/08/2010.
