Scope Of Work

THE CHALLENGE

A Southern California school was heavily damaged by smoke and ash from the Woolsey Fire, closing the entire 500,000 square-foot, five-building campus that needed to be clean and safe to reopen after the winter holidays.

THE OUTCOME

ATI’s team of about 140 technicians worked tirelessly for three weeks to restore the entire campus to pre-damage condition, including a 15-person team focusing specifically on air ducts. This resulted in a perfectly restored campus with high air quality that reopened on time.

THE SITUATION

Although the devastating Woolsey Fire in Southern California did not reach Oaks Christian School, ash deposits scattered inland by the Santa Ana winds affected the 500,000-square-foot, five-building campus.

 

THE SOLUTION

The school was closed under a mandatory evacuation, and ATI was hired to ensure that the campus was clean and safe for classes to resume after the winter holidays. Approximately 130 to 140 remediation technicians worked twelve hours a day, seven days a week, for three weeks to restore the entire school, inside and out, to perfect working order. In addition, 15 professionals worked through the night for an additional five weeks on the vast network of air ducts.

Pre- and post-work testing included random sampling of the structures for safe indoor air quality. At the close of the project, an industrial hygienist ensured high air quality and declared the buildings free of ash, allowing school to be back in session by the targeted date.
