Scope Of Work
To relieve space and access limitations at the historic Tyler County Courthouse, the county chose to renovate an existing county-owned building and relocate the Adult Probation Department, The County Commissioners Offices and the Justice-of-the-Peace Courtroom and Offices. The existing building retained its lease-space occupant, and the remainder of the facility was heavily modified to meet the needs of the County. The Adult Probation department included bullet-resistant protections, public waiting and classroom areas, offices, restrooms, client testing areas, and access to the JP courtroom. The Commissioners Office space includes a secure public entrance, administration areas for staff, conference room and kitchen, storage areas and private offices for each commissioner. The JP Courtroom included a separate public entrance and waiting room, bullet-resistant protections, staff and judges’ office, courtroom with private offices and restrooms. A Master Plan was completed for long term planning of the facility and includes an additional County Courtroom, offices, holding spaces and secure access points.
