Scope Of Work

The Petworth Playground Renovation Project includes the installation of a new 2,100 SF splash pad with new recirculating system and the installation of three playgrounds for different age groups as follows: A 2,900 SF playground for 2-5 years; a 4,500 SF playground for 5-12 years;  and a 1,500 SF teen area which consists of group hang out equipment and exercise structures. The newly installed steel pavilion structure also provides a covered area for public events and music performances which are usually held by the Petworth Neighborhood. The stormwater management scope includes the installation of two bio-retention systems and underdrain pipes to manage the stormwater from the playground surfaces and hardscape throughout the site. The park light poles and the streetlight fixtures adjacent to the recreation center were updated with new energy efficient LED fixtures and new exterior cameras were installed to cover the entire site. The existing basketball court was resurfaced with acrylic coating and the backboards and hoops were updated. The newly installed trees and landscaping provide required shade for seating areas while complying with the stormwater management requirements.
