Scope Of Work

For four decades, KBR has supported the F/A-18 Hornet – from pre-first flight of the original F/A-18A platform to the delivery of the EA-18G Growler to the Royal Australian Air Force.

The aircraft, which serves as both a fighter and attack aircraft, is known today as the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet (F/A-18A-D Classic Hornets) and is used by the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps, as well as numerous other allied nations. In its fighter mode, it serves as escort and fleet air defense. In its attack mode, it provides force projection, interdiction, and close and deep air support. In its electronic warfare mode, it provides detection and jamming against all known surface-to-air threats and provides suppression and electronic attack against airborne communication threats.

KBR has continuously provided F-18 life cycle support which ensures weapon system capability and availability against emergent threats. We currently support the F/A-18 under multiple contracts, including the Service Life Extension Program and Service Life Modification (SLEP/SLM) contract, providing longer service life and increasing availability. KBR’s expertise includes program management, sustainment engineering, test and evaluation, mission support, logistics engineering, foreign military sales (FMS) – which reduce total life cycle cost to the DoD – and budget and finance management.
