Did you know that after 15 minutes of suspension in the air, an arrested fallen worker is in dire need of medical attention?

Several years ago the United States Air Force revised its requirements for fall prevention in the areas of aircraft and facilities. This was set into motion following a series of events that triggered an increased emphasis culminating in mandatory fall prevention training for competent persons by a well-qualified person. Having previously learned of the fall prevention training we provided to the 106th Rescue Wing and the 109th Air Lift Wing of the New York Air National Guard, the Rhode Island unit contacted us. Our training program was developed by one of our Certified Safety Professionals, a retired US Air Force Chief Master Sergeant who served in the Air Force's Safety Field. It was he who responded to the request for this training, created and presented the programs.

Each training program consists of 4 hours of classroom training and 4 hours of hands-on training. Attendees learned everything there is to know on Personal Fall Arrest Systems, applicable unit/local requirements, the US Department of Labor OSHA General Industry Standards for Walking-Working Surfaces, maintenance and the ANSI standards for Self-Rescue. To complete the course, each participant must demonstrate proficiency and must self-rescue. Attendees receive certificates of completion. Attendees feedback has been positive with many saying they have a better appreciation for the life-saving value of personal fall arrest systems that work!
