Stuart Showalter's Bio
concieved of and founded Hover Solutions, LLC in 2015 as a second act in life after many years of work in West Africa for a faith-based non-profit organization. Amazed by the potential for unmanned aerial systems to revolutionize many industries, he decided to learn all he could about the technology, master it, and provide its benefits to companies, organizations, and individuals in the greater Washington, DC area.
Dr. Showalter is Hover Solutions’ primary financial, human-resources, and business networking manager, as well as a certificated Part 107 pilot, budding cinematographer and site manager/visual observer. He has experience flying multi-rotors from DJI, 3D Robotics and Parrott, as well as flying a fixed-wing/VTOL aircraft from BirdsEyeView Aerobotics. Stuart continues to travel to West Africa when he can, usually bringing his Phantom 3 Professional with him, and is responsible for the majority of Hover Solutions’ footage taken on the continent.
Stuart is an entrepreneur at heart, the son of an entrepreneur, a linguist (Georgetown ’91), father, and husband, and he’s only ever crashed a drone during practice flights!
Nathanael Showalter's Bio
Stuart’s oldest son, was appointed Hover Solutions’ Chief of Operations after agreeing to help Stuart create the company. Nathanael grew up in Burkina Faso before getting his degree in Psychology at the College of William & Mary in 2009. Nathanael worked in the telecommunications field for five years, then took a position with a small home remodelling company in Baltimore. In the Spring of 2015, Stuart approached Nathanael and asked him if he would be interested in joining him to start a drone company. Nathanael began working towards meeting the FAA’s licensing requirements while also learning to fly the UAVs.
In March of 2016, Nathanael earned his private pilot certificate from Sky Eagle Aviation Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This allowed Hover Solutions to open its doors for business that same month with Nathanael as the sole licensed UAV operator. Since then he has also obtained his Part 107 UAS remote pilot certificate. He is also the webmaster, main blogger, media editor, and head of social media.
