Scope Of Work
The Arthur Ashe Charter Elementary School project, built for the Louisiana Department of Education Recovery School District, included the new construction of a 9,727 square foot elementary school in New Orleans, LA. The facility houses five buildings and supports approximately 450 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. The elementary school was constructed to replace Bienville Elementary School, which was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. The project also features classrooms, laboratories, business offices, a gymnasium, stage and media center, music and performance spaces, a library, and full kitchen. This project achieved Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for site development, optimized energy performance, the use of recycled and regionally produced materials, and lighting system design and controllability. The Arthur Ashe Charter Elementary School now provides an environmentally friendly educational facility for the community.
