Victor Cullen Detention Center is a state owned and operated secured treatment facility for adjudicated males located in Frederick County, Maryland. The facility was designed to accommodate a total of 48 youth in five (5) cottages with the cafeteria, administration offices and kitchen in the main building. The renovation intent was to replace the plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems completely as well as improvement of the facility building security and life safety systems.
RME self-performed selective demolition of masonry walls, plaster ceilings and door openings. We also provided installation of impact resistant type ceilings and walls, new masonry walls, installation of security grade door frames, painting, new VCT and epoxy floor finishes and installation of millwork in all the kitchens.
It was necessary for us to carefully coordinate with all trades to avoid conflicts while co-existing within limited space due to the fasted paced schedule. Completion of the work was managed and completed in accordance with the original construction schedule and budget.
