Bates Engineers/Contractors was incorporated in Georgia in May of 1962 as Bates & Associates. Over our 50+ year history, we have worked diligently to develop a close relationship with various industrial clients who have afforded us the opportunity to design and construct a multitude of projects. Repeat business is a major portion of our volume each year. We continue to focus on the development of long term relationships by providing our clients with personnel who attend to even the smallest details.

Bates is not your typical Prime Contractor. We are owned and managed by engineers who understand the entire facility delivery process. Our unique management abilities are an asset for project owners in both construct-only and design-build project methods. With construct-only services, we focus on safely building high quality facilities while ensuring that the designers meet the owner’s needs. In design-build, our unique capabilities really shine. We self-perform many facets of the design with our in-house staff of Professional Engineers and LEED APs. This high level of involvement continues in the field as we have the capacity to self-perform a large portion of each project. This approach ensures we have direct control of the building process and translates into significant time and cost savings that are passed to the project owner. Our method of design-build greatly simplifies the Owner’s involvement because they have one point of contact for the entire building process.

In addition to our self-perform capabilities, a major portion of our success has been due to our association with excellent, dedicated subcontractors enabling us to provide quality construction at an affordable price. We are proud of the fact that we have many subcontractors who have teamed with us for over 30 years.
