Our Story

EcoLawn was founded by Beau Schmidt and Jessica Girard in 2014 during the heart of the California drought, when they saw a need for saving water and designing beautiful yet efficient landscapes. Since 2014, we have worked with hundreds of home and business owners in Santa Barbara County to remove traditional, water-thirsty grass lawns and implement water-free or low-water landscapes.

We approach every project from a water conservation and environmental standpoint, and work hard to optimize water savings, reduce runoff, increase drainage as well as create an aesthetically beautiful project. Our professional installation crew specializes in synthetic grass, landscaping and custom carpentry, and our talented design team can help inspire and bring your dream yard to reality.
