Scope Of Work

As part of Harvard University’s Allston Redevelopment Program, Columbia recently completed renovations to two buildings (28 Travis Street and 224 Western Avenue) previously used as warehouse and office space.

The conversion of the 28 Travis Street property included the redesign of space to be utilized for University tenants. This required base building and tenant fit-out improvements, structural reinforcement, and a complete overhaul of MEP systems. A new roof was installed and significant site improvements were performed, including new parking and vehicle access.

At 224 Western Avenue, Columbia completed renovations to divide the property into two retail spaces. Harvard’s Ceramics Studio now occupies half the building, while the remainder will be used by another tenant. A key feature to the building is a new glass gallery entry with exterior cladding, and accompanying landscape design.

Since 1983 Columbia has been working on the Harvard campus, completing over $45 million on a number of renovation and new construction projects to-date.
