Scope Of Work

Multiple openings were cut into the old vaults of this historic bank building.

Some of these old vault walls were reinforced with railroad tracks, yes, sections of railroad tracks were strategically placed in the walls before concrete was poured, this created a strong wall and a very difficult cutting process, especially since nobody knew what had been used to reinforce the walls.

Many different methods were used on this project, depending on access and location of the cuts. Wall/track sawing was used for most, yet several had to be wire sawed due to thickness and access limitations. Several holes were cored into these vaults, some to explore what type of steel was inside, others to set accessories for the wire sawing.
