Scope Of Work

Faced with explosive growth, Blue Apron needed to rapidly expand its cold storage warehouse and fresh ingredient production space. 

Food Tech was contacted to add 100,000 square feet of space to its Jersey City, NJ, location while the facility remained operational. The fast-track, time-sensitive project included multiple construction management and logistical planning challenges. Food Tech was able to complete the project without interfering with Blue Apron’s regular distribution and production, allowing the company to remain fully committed to its customers.

The project included refrigeration engineering solutions and food process plant design. Additionally, Food Tech built as many components as possible, such as refrigeration equipment, to be movable. This will provide Blue Apron considerable savings in the future when they complete plans to entirely relocate to a new facility. 

During this project, Food Tech delivered the following:

Packaged Freon refrigeration
