John Milone's Bio
As President of MMI, John drives the firm's vision of growth and expansion while ensuring a culture of respect and balance. He is personally committed to the success of the firm's projects, the satisfaction of our clients, and the happiness of our employees. Initiating a private practice in early 1984 and founding Milone & MacBroom later that year in partnership with Jim MacBroom, John has a diverse background in both civil and architectural engineering, including extensive experience in both private and public development, transportation, and infrastructure. In addition to overall project oversight involving quality control, scheduling, and project management, he regularly participates in project feasibility and design assessments as well as alternatives analyses.
Mark Arigoni's Bio
Mark joined MMI over 20 years ago, influenced by a lifelong interest in art and design that led him to pursue a career as a landscape architect. As a Vice President of the firm, he is responsible for project development and management of design, coordination, specifications, cost estimates, construction documents, and permit applications for various projects across New England. His practice includes the design of greenways, streetscapes, passive and active parks, environmental restorations, recreational facilities, athletic facilities, urban redevelopment and revitalization's, and commercial site developments. Mark, who also oversees the firm's Springfield office, finds watching designs come to life as construction starts and progresses to completion to be one of the most satisfying aspects of his job. Recent accomplishments include his appointment to the Connecticut State Board of Landscape Architects and election to the CLARB National Committee on Nominations, and he's been published in several magazines, most recently in the June 2017 issue of Civil Engineering magazine with his article, "Green Guardian," co-authored by colleague Jim MacBroom, PE, about the award-winning Meriden Green project.
Vincent C. McDermott's Bio
As Senior Vice President of MMI's Landscape Architecture and Planning Department, Vince’s contributions to the firm have fostered the successful integration of landscape architecture with engineering. For over 45 years, he has committed himself to the recognition and advancement of landscape architecture and is responsible for the firm’s current double-digit team of licensed landscape architects. Vince is also an accomplished planner, having provided technical oversight on land use, community, and master planning on many of the firm’s projects. His project expertise is varied and includes streetscape improvements, parks and recreational facilities, site development, and athletic fields.

Thomas P. Balskus's Bio
As Director of Construction Services, Tom brings to MMI a broad range of experience in the areas of civil and construction engineering. His construction practice includes inspection and administration, feasibility, and project coordination on state and federally funded transportation and other infrastructure projects. He is also responsible for stormwater management, highway design, sanitary sewer, and dam/spillway design.

Darin Overton's Bio
Darin is a Senior Project Manager with experience in site development, land use permitting, and stormwater management covering a wide range of residential and commercial applications for both private and municipal clients. His work is focused on environmentally sensitive designs that are attractive, efficient, and respective of the natural environment of a property and its surroundings. The challenge of overcoming site constraints, whether shaping a new development to an undeveloped site, or redevelopment of an underutilized property is what drives his creativity. He finds redevelopment of brownfield sites to be some of his most engaging projects and looks forward to new challenges as our design thinking continues to evolve.
David Dickson's Bio
As a Senior Project Manager, Dave is responsible for integrating all aspects of site design and master planning, from initial client contact through all phases of design and construction. His diverse practice includes public/private school work, park design, streetscape design and the design of athletic facilities. Dave was drawn to landscape architecture because it’s a blend of the three things that excite him the most – art, science, and the environment. He is most intrigued by the design process, which requires truly unique problem-solving skills and is never the same twice. In addition to his work at MMI, Dave recently retired from the US Navy as a Commander, after serving 22 years of combined active and reserve duty.
Gregory A. Szyszkowski's Bio
Greg is a Senior Project Manager whose practice includes preparing project cost estimates, new employee interviews, acquisition of various permits for field personnel, mentoring office staff and project oversight. His experience includes boundary, topographic, construction stake-out and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, and land record research, information compilation, and analysis as the basis of the land survey process has been an area of special interest and dedication. He has worked throughout New England, New York, and New Jersey, and clients have included federal, state, municipal entities, as well as private owners and contractor/construction companies. Greg is also a member of the MMI Safety Committee.
Mark Carabetta's Bio
As a Senior Environmental Scientist with over 20 years of experience, Mark specializes in the science of wetlands and rivers. His expertise is in wetland and watercourse evaluation, geomorphic assessment, ecological restoration, environmental permitting, natural community classification, and hydrologic modeling. Mark is a Professional Wetland Scientist and a Certified Floodplain Manager, having managed numerous flood hazard mitigation studies.
