Nick Witek has worked for W&J Construction since 1980. He became
President and Owner of W & J Construction Corporation in 1999,
specializing in Design-Build, Construction Management and General
Contracting services. He has been in the Construction Industry for
over 30 years and has been involved in all stages of construction
projects for Brevard County, Harris Corporation, Northrop Grumman,
Melbourne International Airport, Catholic Diocese of Orlando,
Canaveral Port Authority, Brevard Community College, and the Cities of
Rockledge, Cocoa and Melbourne. Nick also has extensive experience in
completing high profile government projects for Cape Canaveral Air
Force Station, NASA, Delaware North Park Services, and the Astronauts
Memorial Foundation. Some of his projects include the Apollo Saturn V
Exhibit, Rocket Garden Renovation, LC-39 Operations Support Building,
Launch Operations Control Center, KSC Air Traffic Control Tower,
Astronauts’ Memorial Foundation Center for Space Education, and the
Astronaut’s Memorial Space Mirror.
Prior to W & J Construction, Nick worked in Advanced Programs for
Martin Marietta in New Orleans and was there for the rollout of the
first External Tank for the Space Shuttle. Before that, Nick worked in
International Space Programs for NASA at the Goddard Space Flight
Center in Greenbelt, Maryland from 1969-1979.
Nick was born and
educated in Pennsylvania, receiving his B.S. Degree in Electronics
from the University of Scranton. Nick went on to earn an M.S.E.E.
Electrical Engineering degree from the Catholic University,
Washington, DC (National Science Foundation Fellowship).
Nick has held a Florida General Contractors License since 1983. He
has served on the Brevard County Contractor Licensing Board since 1997
and as Chairman since 1998. He is a founding Board Member of the
Construction Industry Advisory Board, Florida Tech (2001), and is the
Chairman of the Scholarship and Intern Committee. He has been on the
Board of Directors of the Astronaut Memorial Foundation since 2006,
Treasure from 2008-2009, and is currently Vice Chairman. Nick served
as Vice President of Associated Builders and Contractors from
1994-1995. He is a member of both the Space Coast Early Intervention
Center Board and the Cocoa Rotary Club since 2003.
