Scope Of Work
The former Burton’s Restaurant, a fixture in this community for over 50 years, required demolition, renovation, seismic upgrade, and remodeling of the kitchen, entry, restrooms and eating areas before the new owners could reopen it as the Broken Yolk Café. Built in 1920, this unreinforced masonry building had to be structurally upgraded to meet current standards, involving steel moment frames, steel plates strengthening the existing truss system, sheathing and attaching the roof to the walls. The existing HVAC system was totally demolished and replaced with a more efficient, modern design. Additional interior scope included ADA upgrades, plumbing and electrical improvements and finishes. Exterior components include parapet wall construction, stucco and masonry architectural features, store front systems and steel canopies.
