Scope Of Work
Roger Williams University’s sailing family has always dreamed of having their own facility. The result: a breathtaking home that broadens the horizons not just for student-athletes, but for the entire campus.
A Transformative Experience
The RWU Sailing Center unleashes capabilities that transcend what a typical sailing center can do. On the surface level, it meets the needs of the top-ranked Hawks sailing team. A deeper dive into the waterfront facility’s features and components reveals a plethora of possibilities that will continue to transform experiences into the future.
Where Aesthetics and Practicality Intersect
Designed by ACTWO Architects and built by TRAC, this facility features locker rooms, officers, a classroom, and conference room. Additionally, there is a dehumidified room for wet sailing gear and space for the storage and repair of boats, kayaks, and paddleboards. Since its completion in 2015, the RWU Sailing Center has hosted regattas, major events, and all waterfront programs at the university.
All Hands on Deck, Focused on the End-User Experience
Bringing concept and vision to life was a truly collaborative experience. Throughout the entire process, we took into account input offered by alumni, students, and faculty.
