Scope Of Work
The project was for the pretreatment of plant waste, prior to it entering the city’s sanitary sewer system. The work required the construction of a new 30 foot diameter clarifier concrete reinforced structure and a 2.5 gallon reinforced concrete partially buried aeration basin structure. The project included excavating over 15,000 cubic yards for the new structures and forming and placing over 2,100 cys of structural reinforced concrete. GSE utilized a combination of sheet piles for the protection of existing structures. Site work piping included the new buried supply and return lines from the clarifier and aeration basin. The mechanical work included installing a new clarifier mechanism and the new floating aeration equipment. Electrical and instrumentation upgrades were required for the operation of the new equipment. Project closeout included some minor site concrete pads and some asphalt concrete patch paving.
