Boh Bros. was hired by PBF to construct tank foundation for new crude oil tank D03011 at Chalmette Refinery. pile-supported foundation is 302’ diameter 2’ thick is largest diameter foundation Boh has ever .
Following initial sitework, Boh sequenced three piling rigs to work simultaneously in order to ensure a safe efficient while driving 1,485 14”x70’ pre-stressed concrete piles required for foundation. After driving piles, 1,021,648lbs (510 TN) re-steel was tied into foundation.
A total 5,250 cubic yards concrete was then placed into the tank foundation in two pours 2,625 CY on subsequent weekends. Boh Bros. foundation 32 calendar days after pile driving had been .
