Scope Of Work

W. M. Lyles Co. (WML) simultaneously constructed the Henry Wochholz Water Recycling Facility and Yucaipa Valley Regional Water Filtration Facility for the Yucaipa Valley Water District with joint management staff and field teams due to the concurrent schedules and close proximity of plant sites.

The Henry Wochholz Water Recycling Facility was an expansion of the 4.5 MGD wastewater plant to an 8 MGD Title 22 Reclaimed Water Facility. Sequential improvements were completed on a congested site while keeping the existing plant fully operational. Work included new headworks, a blower building, aeration basins, secondary clarifiers, microfiltration, an equalization pond, chemical facilities, UV disinfection, a 4 MG raw water prestressed concrete reservoir and pump station, discharge pipeline, electrical and instrumentation with SCADA integration, site grading, paving, yard piping, and structures.

The Yucaipa Valley Regional Water Filtration Facility was construction of a new surface water treatment facility with an initial capacity of 12 MGD and provisions for expansion to 36 MGD. Construction included automatic strainers and a free surface flow distribution structure, manual strainers, a microfiltration membrane system, a nanofiltration system, a blending structure, an operations building, a chemical building, chemical storage and feed systems, a DAF system, a CIP waste sump and pump station, site work, electrical and instrumentation, utilities, paving, and landscaping.
