Founder Carmine Solimine has been a staple of the industry since the 1940’s, working first as a contractor and then eventually as an importer and supplier. A visit to Italy in 1958 opened Carmine’s eyes to a world of tiles that was emerging from centuries of tradition from Old World craftsmen.

It was love at first sight, and by the mid 1960’s, Carmine had established himself as one of the original, as well one of the largest importers of decorative ceramic tiles in the United States. The quest for the newest and best expanded internationally and tiles from Spain, Germany, France, Mexico and Brazil became fixtures in his showrooms.

In 1992, Carmine Solimine Jr. joined his father in the family business full time. A graduate of Bentley College and the King School in Stamford, CT, Carmine Jr. has thoroughly enjoyed building upon his father’s success while maintaining strong relationships world wide. A strong family atmosphere is on display each day in Carmine’s showroom.

Carminart is an 18,000 square foot facility centrally located in Elmsford, NY. There is plenty of free parking, and all our offices, showroom and warehouse are in one convenient location.
