Scope Of Work
Mayfield Animal Center is an institutional by definition. Owned operated by a Joint Powers Authority that includes County of Stanislaus 6 independent cities, comprises over 34,000 sf, majority being animal holding . itself is a testament to special needs of its use. can accommodate over 400 dogs 200 cats. During design of several specialty consultants were utilized to ensure a sanitary, humane workable environment for all inhabitants of , both animal human.
An acoustical study was commissioned to determine potential noise levels within . What was found was that preliminary noise level could approach 115 db., louder than a jet taking off. solution was to install sound-wall breaks within holding rooms, to help prevent transmission of sound “rolling barking” to adjacent holding as well as . addition, sound
absorbing material was placed on ceilings, helping to lower overall noise level by half.
An interactive corridor was created as a specialized place were can interact with their prospective pets acts as “sign post” for way-finding in . also has a fully functioning veterinary clinic with operating suites. boasts over 50 skylights to provide daylight illumination.
